Vancouver Canucks Clinch NHL Northwest Division Championship

After trailing the Colorado Avalanche 2-0 early in the game, the Vancouver Canucks came back strong in the third quarter to defeat the Avalanche 4-2 and clinch the NHL Northwest Division Championship.

With goals by Hendrick Sedin (2), Maxim Lapierre, and Alex Burrows, the Vancouver Canucks showed why they were at the top of the NHL. Daniel Sedin added two assists to extend his lead in the NHL scoring race with 92 points.

Cory Schneider made 27 saves to help Vancouver wrap up the Northwest Division, and with it a top-three playoff seeding in the Western Conference.

Tonight’s game is their seventh win in a row (5 on the road), and puts them on track for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
